This is the first installment in what I hope to be a series of personal blogs, chronicling my journey into Software Development. I want to give you a behind the scenes peek into the process and a little bit about myself, along the way.
I came across coding a few years back and ended up stumbling upon my calling. The more I got into it, the more I wanted to get into it. Like an itch that couldn’t be satisfied. Slowly, this feeling grew until I knew it was something I wanted to pursue full time.
In September 2025, I left my job as an Insurance Broker and enrolled in NBCC’s Software Development program. If I was going to make the leap, it was time to commit and jump in headfirst.
After wrapping up the first semester, I want to start a blog to document the process and milestones along the way. I realise that the time is going to fly by and it would be nice to have some mementos from this time in my life to look back on.
My plan is to graduate from NBCC in June of 2027. More importantly however, I want to take as much as I can from my experiences inside and out of the classroom. My goal it to land a coding job out of school, where I can hit the ground running contributing valuable solutions.
